A360 works underway – phase three

Works on the A360 to install high-voltage cabling under the road continue to progress and are now in the final phase of trenching works between Druids Lodge and the Longbarrow roundabout.

The project is still on schedule to be completed by mid-July with work being carried out seven days a week, including some overnight working so the project can be completed as quickly and safely as possible.

Traffic is being diverted via the A345 and sections of the A303 and A360. The road between Stoford and Woodford remains open with temporary traffic lights used to manage traffic flow as needed.

Please do continue to plan your journeys and allow extra time if you’re travelling at peak times.

We are working with people who live and work along the A360 to safely manage their access throughout the works. If you have any questions about access to homes and businesses on the A360, please call 03301 755 675 or email info@a360temporaryclosure.co.uk

Wiltshire Council improvement works on the A360

Over the coming weeks, Wiltshire Council will also carry out additional improvement works on the A360 while the closure is in place. This will include pothole and road edge repairs, and drainage improvements. The road surface will be reinstated and subject to inspection by the Council’s streetworks team.

Summer Sosltice

National Highways is advising motorists to plan their journeys along the A303 ahead of next week’s Summer Solstice event at Stonehenge.

The event will take place on Thursday 20 June and the morning of Friday 21 June, and with limited parking on site, English Heritage is once again urging visitors to use public transport or car share.

Car parking will be available from 7pm on 20 June until 6am on 21 June, and will shut once full. The car park will be vacated by noon on the Friday.

Buses will run from Salisbury and pedestrians are advised to use the designated, temporary pedestrian crossing on the A303 at Stonehenge Cottages

During the Solstice event, National Highways will assist the flow of traffic before, during and after the event.

A 40mph speed limit will be in place on the A303 between the Countess roundabout and Longbarrow roundabout, with the lay-bys closed in between, and the dual carriageway will be reduced to a single lane between Countess Roundabout and Stonehenge Cottages.

Drivers are advised to follow the signs rather than their sat nav, and can obtain up-to-the-minute travel information on X (formerly Twitter), by phoning the National Highways on 0300 123 5000 or by visiting www.trafficengland.com
